1. Whenever possible renters should inspect the property prior to sending any money. If it is not possible for you to physically inspect the property, ask for additional pictures and/or references from others who have stayed at the property you wish to rent.

2. Insist on a copy of the rental agreement including all policies and procedures.

3. Do not pay by cash and preferably not by wire. Check, money order, Paypal, or credit cards would be acceptable forms of payment.

4. It is best to speak to the owner by phone before making a final decision on renting a property. Ask questions. If you are not comfortable with the answers, do not rent the property.

5. Renters assume all liability for use of this site. Be cautious. Check with the local Better Business Bureau for additional information.
